To the farthest west of Texas, beyond the Pecos River, is Trans Pecos Texas. And at the farthest western reaches of the Trans Pecos lies the city of El Paso, a city that wears its Mexican roots unapologetically on its sleeve, as much Latin American as any other kind of American.
